Rewilding Healthcare Exhibition at Cody Dock
4th May – 5th June 2025 • Free Entry
Rewilding healthcare is a creative collaboration for UCL Trellis 5, between artist Laura Copsey and Sarah Yardley, a researcher and palliative medicine consultant.
The project invited participants to join in a series of creative workshops at Cody Dock in Newham, on the banks of the River Lea, in partnership with Julia Briscoe, Cody Dock co-founder and a former palliative care nurse.
Guided by Sarah’s co-produced theory of collective social safety, the creative workshops used metaphors related to water, islands and sailing to spark conversation and reframe healthcare experiences in new ways.
As a crew, we shared stories and perspectives in workshops informed by Laura’s practice involving mapping, navigation, signalling and the weather. Our aim was to reimagine healthcare as an open ecosystem that prioritises creativity and relationship-centered solutions, culminating in an exhibition at UCL East in April 2025.
The exhibition is running from 4th May – 5th June with a special event on Thursday 22nd May.
About Creativity and Wellbeing Week

Creativity and Wellbeing Week (19-25th May 2025) is a partnership between London Arts and Health and the Culture, Health & Wellbeing Alliance.
Now in its 14th year, the week is an opportunity for thousands of creatives and arts and cultural organisations to showcase the amazing, wide-ranging work they are doing to support health and wellbeing around the UK and beyond – whether in hospitals, museums, theatres, residential care, galleries, community centres, heritage sites, libraries, or people’s homes.
This year, our theme is ‘New Horizons in Creative Health’. We aim to engage with a wide range of grass-roots community organisations, practitioners, and participants across the country to understand their approach to and experience of Creative Health practices while asking key questions about the challenges of sustaining this work.
As the crises in individual, communal, and planetary health deepen, we are compelled to act in imaginative, radical ways to ensure our survival. Creative Health helps us to thrive as individuals and communities, but it is also an act of resistance.
