Brownfield sites are important habitats that are often disregarded or overlooked.

Join us for an introduction to the plants of brownfield sites, part of our Plant Study Sessions series. What are brownfields? What are the common species found on our site? How can we identify them?

This session is part of our Urban Plant Study Series.

Curious about the plants that grow in urban spaces? Join our Biodiversity Officer as we discover the communities of plant life growing on our urban riverbanks and verges. You will learn basic ID and recording skills, as well as meet like-minded plant lovers!

  • Plant ID books and hand lenses provided.
  • Please wear weather-appropriate walking shoes and clothes.
  • We will be using the iNaturalist app to record our findings. If you would like to be involved, we recommend downloading this free tool on your smartphone in advance. (Tablets with the app are available on request.)
