Earlier this Summer, Cody Dock staff were called in to rescue a fox cub that became stranded on a fast-disappearing river bank while a particularly high tide was coming in. 

Although foxes are very good swimmers, the artificial river walls and lack of escape routes along the tidal Lea meant that we had to intervene. 

Once released into the reedbed the sodden cub darted off into the undergrowth.
