Telephone Befriending COVID-19

Cody Dock is working with the local authorities and Newham based community organisations to provide vetted volunteers to support vulnerable or isolated residents with an online or telephone based befriending service. It is essential that all people who volunteer for this service already have a current and up to date DBS and it is desirable that they have a level 1 or above safeguarding training. Once vetted Cody Dock will be delivering weekly online befriending training, an induction and supervision for all our befriending volunteers.

We are running regular volunteer befriending training sessions every week. These take place via Zoom.

Cody Dock will do a “status check” on your DBS as a standard procedure for all volunteers who showed interest in providing this service. If you do not wish for us to perform a status check on your DBS, please contact us.
