Are you a Teacher in KS2? Or curious what kind of Youth Activities we hold at Cody Dock?

Join us for an evening of celebration as we mark the launch of Cody Wild ED, our new schools programme. Delve into the world of nature and see our unique tidal ecosystem through the lens of a kid again and find out how your class can get involved this summer term. There’ll be free food, and drink as well as a chance to join in some activities yourselves (but only if you wish)!

Make sure to bring your colleagues for a fun evening before the end of term, it’s not to miss!

About Cody Dock

Cody Dock is a centre for arts, heritage, and ecology based in Newham. Gasworks Dock Partnership (the registered charity behind Cody Dock) was formed in 2009, with the purpose of transforming Cody Dock and creating a more sustainable future for the surrounding communities and wildlife.

About our Youth Programme

At Cody Dock, we are passionate about connecting people of all ages with the natural environment right on their doorstep. Our Youth and Education Programme aims to strengthen the bond between young people and the natural environment and local heritage in Newham and Tower Hamlets, while also equipping them to drive positive change.

About our Schools Programme

Our Schools Programme, Cody Wild ED, is therefore designed to spark young people’s curiosity through engaging sessions that are both interactive and interdisciplinary, enriching subject learning across the curriculum. Located in the Lower River Lea Valley – a place of exceptional wildlife diversity with over 93 bird species, and an area deeply intertwined with the borough’s rich social history – our unique setting serves as a catalyst for sparking dialogues about both Newham’s environment and heritage.

So far we’ve worked with over 3,000 young people so far from a variety of schools and colleges in Newham and Tower Hamlets. Whether it’s through guided walks, wildlife surveys, or creative activities, we aim to provide memorable and enriching experiences that not only teach valuable skills but also empower young people to become stewards of their environment.
