Talk to me – Time to change

Cody Dock is proud to be hosting a pair of sculptures by the artist Steuart Padwick called ‘Talk to Me’. Direct from the interiors show – Design Junction, that takes place annually at London’s Kings Cross – these large-scale works are an engaging two-piece interactive installation that was created to support of the mental health campaign ‘Time to Change’.

As passers-by approach these interactive giant wooden figures, a proximity sensor is
triggered and they begin to voice poignant and uplifting words. The spoken words have been written by notable poets, writers, actors and mental health ambassadors including Rachel Joyce, Barney Norris, Olly Todd, Elliot Barnes-Worrell, Kirsten Irving and Errol McGlashan (Uncle Errol).

In support of World Mental Health Day on 10th October, award-winning director Dan Henshaw has collaborated with Steuart Padwick to create a powerful three-minute film in a bid to provoke conversations around the nation’s mental health and wellbeing. It shows us the simple message that through communication with one another, the weight so many of us carry can be lessened. The film includes a stellar cast including Christopher Eccleston, Tom Goodman-Hill, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Niamh Cusack and Adam Kammerling.
