About our new Cody Dock Social

a group enjoy Cody Docks new social space

This new project is geared toward local adults of all ages but particularly those who are feeling socially isolated, perhaps new to the area, are carers, or unable to work for any reason such as poor health or retired and are seeking to make new connections in their lives. It will provide an opportunity for people to meet others, spend time in nature, increase their confidence and connect with the wider community (Parents and carers with children under 3 would also be very welcome).

The Social will be fully accessible and cross-generational participation will be encouraged. It will run once a week over seven 6-week cycles with two-week breaks in between. The 2-hour sessions will be based in our beautiful indoor growing space, complete with a wood fired oven and include nature walks, heritage talks, refreshments, board games, reminiscence, co-production and focus on self-help, self-regulation and mindfulness practices.

This project will be hosted at Cody Dock and co-produced by the charity Gasworks Dock Partnership and Julia Briscoe who is a Newham Resident and Independent Consultant Nurse specialising in nature-based interventions and coaching.
