Volunteers looked at the value of urban greenspaces, and helped to record the variety of flowering species. Wildflowers provide seasonal habitats that support a variety of ecosystems and species. Through the use of mobile technology local community members were empowered to help record flowering species. Photographs of key features and relevant size were submitted by individuals to be verified or identified, teaching them to examine and differentiate species.
