Welcome to the Intermediate Bumblebee ID Workshop
Friday, June 28th, 10am – 3pm
Free event
We are looking for a few people to help us monitor the bumblebees of Cody Dock and the surrounding industrial estate. The information collected by volunteers is integral to monitoring how bumblebee populations change over time and will allow us to detect early warning signs of population declines, as well as contribute to important long-term monitoring of bumblebee population changes in response to changes in land use and climate change.
Come along to learn how to identify the rare and cuckoo bumblebee species in the area and contribute to our community science programme. There will be a classroom session in the morning followed by a field excursion.
This data will be added to the national monitoring scheme run by Bumblebee Conservation Trust as part of their Buzzing in the East End project.
No experience necessary, though an ability to identify the 8 common species would be an advantage.
