Join us at Cody Dock for a unique evening of short talks and conversation, exploring different approaches to mortality.

We will hear six fascinating talks from leaders representing the disciplines of art, ecology, history, psychology, and religion.

The event will start promptly at 7pm and run till 10pm.

‘Cycles of Life’ is a collaboration between Marie Curie Palliative Care Research Department at University College London and Cody Dock, generously supported by UCL’s Health, Mind & Society initiative.

Please arrive and take your seat by 7pm.

19:00 – 21:00: Talks & Panel Discussion

Includes a break and chance to ask questions to our speakers.

21:00 – 22:00: Drinks & Socialising

Venue closes at 10pm.

Is there disabled access?

Yes! Cody Dock is fully accessible and also has a disabled access toilet.

Is there parking?

No, there is some very limited disabled access parking which can be made available on request in advance. There is also paid parking in the street outside.

How do I get there?

Nearest DLR: Star Lane (5 minute walk) | Nearest tube: Jubilee Line West Ham or Canning Town (15 min walk) | Buses: 276 to Star Lane and 323 to the bottom of South Crescent.

Will there be refreshments?

Yes! Your ticket price includes one drink from the bar. There is no cafe open at this time, however.

How to get to Cody Dock

  • Cody Dock is a 6 minute walk from Star Lane DLR Station. The DLR is a fully accessible public transport network with step-free access into all stations. Use the Stephenson Street exit from Star Lane station (the exit to the left) when departing from the platform. 
  • Parking reserved for those with special access needs: On-site parking available upon request in advance. Please contact the event manager in advance. 

Please be advised that street parking Monday – Saturday 8 am – 6.30 pm is paid by phone with a max stay of 4 hours.
