Cody Dock Summer Open Day

Saturday 14th of June 2025
11:00 am – 6:00 pm • Free Event

We will be opening our doors on June 14th for our Summer Open Day, showcasing the voices that have made Cody Dock the vibrant place that it is today. It has taken the contributions of many, from local and further communities and endless hours from staff and volunteers to build a place that is for everyone. The many spaces that we are lucky to have here have been erected and made possible by countless collaborations and contributions from so many and we want to celebrate that.

Not only will we be sharing the voices that make Cody Dock possible, we will be sharing the unheard voices of the River, from past to present and looking at it as an entity to encourage visitors to understand the unique space of Cody Dock – a real meeting of industrial and natural landscapes. As an organisation, we are in endless conversation with not only each other, but the River Lea in which we are situated, so it is important that we include it in our celebration.

Expect tours of our site, performances and live music, a glimpse into our boat restoration project, workshops, exhibitions, plant sale, the rolling of our famous Rolling Bridge & much more!

This event is free and open to all.

There are lots of people who are a large part of this wonderful place, many of whom work here every day doing amazing things!

Did you know we have creative studios on site? Two of our residents Nicolas (Office for Crafted Architecture) & John (Adventure Playground Engineers) will be talking about the amazing work they do in their own fields and their own connections to Cody Dock. As central members of our community, we are excited to give them a platform for them to share what they do & how they do it🙌 Catch Nicolas at 2pm and John at 4pm.

Our Ecology and Biodiversity team will be kicking us off with a discussion on the importance of having a voice in your local environment and concluding our day by reading the rights of the River as collected from their workshop. 12pm & 5pm🍃

At 1pm, Tim, the leader of our Therapeutic Gardening project, will be sharing some case studio about participants in the project.

And our founder Simon will be speaking about a brief history of Cody Dock at 3pm🤲
