Would you like to be in with a chance to win your school one of 5 free boat trips along the River Lea? Each boat trip can accommodate up to 80 passengers and you and your school can be one of them.
Well here’s how you can:
To celebrate the launch of our Community Boat – The River Princess – the Gasworks Dock Partnership team at Cody Dock are inviting students across Newham and Tower Hamlets schools to design a poster to help us promote our new boat service.
The poster should celebrate the River Lea and can draw upon the Lea’s diverse ecology, rich heritage or the types of activities our Community Boat will be delivering: boat trips, boat handling courses and learning about our rivers. You can use any medium you wish: drawing, painting, collage, digital, photography… Just make sure it is original and eye catching!
Students and Teachers can nominate: The first thing you have to do is nominate your school and get permission from the Head Teacher to take part.
Schools: Each school should choose someone to complete this ENTRY FORM and be the primary point of contact for the application. Once completed, we’ll send your school a digital teacher’s pack with full instructions and activity resources to help the students with their design.
The deadline for submitting entries is Thursday 31st May so get in touch as soon as you can and start designing your poster.
All winning designs will be displayed as part of an exhibition at Cody Dock in the Summer term. They will also feature in our newsletter and be used as promotional material for our boat service and opportunities on it. Winners will get to choose a date for their boat trip.
