Job Description:

To maintain a high standard of cleanliness across the site, its facilities and venues. This includes but is not limited to our Office, Volunteer Hub, Gallery, Community Boat, Storage Containers, outdoor public spaces and gardens including the outdoor classroom.

 

Daily duties include: emptying domestic bins, cleaning and servicing our toilets, keeping our outdoor public spaces free from rubbish, sweeping entrance ways.

 

Weekly duties include: sweep, dust or hoover our gallery, office, community boat, outdoor classroom, volunteer container and other container storage areas. Put out our 600litre wheelie bins for weekly collection. Review our site events schedule and modify the cleaning rota by liaising with the office team and project managers to ensure there is access to venues and they ready for use.

 

Other responsibilities and expectations: 

  • Review and manage stocks of cleaning materials, toilet paper, hand towels and provide our office manager with a weekly list of any stock that needs replacing.
  • Keep up to date COSHH register of all cleaning products used and ensure they are clearly labelled and stored appropriately.
  • Ensure appropriate disposal of waste and that cleaning products are used correctly.
  • Help ensure the site remains safe by operating safe working practices at all times and immediately report any potential hazards to our site manager or health and safety officer.
  • Assist with laying rock salt on outdoor slippery areas during cold weather when needed.
  • From time to time degrease and clean outdoor decked areas to avoid slip hazards.
  • Maintain an up to date record of hours and cleaning rota that will ensure that all areas are covered and monitored.
  • Option of additional hours as required to clean-up after private bookings and events in our private hire spaces.
  • Read and sign up to Gasworks Dock Partnerships Core Aims, safeguarding statement and other GDP policies and procedures.
