Environment Project Assistant

We have 1 exciting 6-month placements to join our fantastic Environment and Ecology Project. You will become part of our Citizen Science team who are responsible for monitoring the local environment, carrying out wildlife surveys and planning conservation action. You will learn about nationwide recording projects and support volunteers on carrying out these activities at Cody Dock, collecting valuable data. The role will include use of canoes, field equipment and recording devices. Our team will provide training and induction on all project areas and use of all equipment.

We are looking for motivated individuals with an eagerness to learn, who are interested in our charities wider aims of social inclusion and being involved in the regeneration of Cody Dock for community and ecological benefit. 

We’re working in partnership with Charityworks, the UK-non-profit sector’s Kickstart gateway as part of a collaborative effort to power up our sector with exceptional talent and make a real impact on youth unemployment.  

Each role includes a supported 6-month development programme delivered by Charityworks. The programme will equip you with the connections, experiences, tools and insight needed to succeed at work, help you to build a peer community of fellows and give you the skills to transition well beyond the placement, and develop long term careers in the non-profit sector.  

The Kickstart Scheme is a programme specifically designed to help young people currently claiming Universal Credit and who are looking for an entry level position in a professional role and environment.
