Conservation, Environmental Protection & Citizen Science volunteering opportunities

This year our volunteers are setting out on an ambitious mission to survey and rewild the lower Lea valley and greenspaces surrounding Cody Dock. We will be monitoring bird populations, carrying out a butterfly and other insect surveys, and getting in the river to explore the mudflat environment and carry out clean-up efforts to remove historic and plastic pollution from the river. Check out our volunteer pages for more information about other activities you can get involved in!

If you would like to take part in these activities please fill in our volunteer sign-up form and get in contact with  Gino to find out more!

Sessions are on Tuesdays and Fridays 10am – 3pm. To book a place and for more information, please contact [email protected].

No experience necessary – all sessions are facilitated by one of Cody Dock’s volunteer coordinators.

All Personal Protective Equipment provided.

Please note: due to the current circumstances surrounding covid-19 we have reduced maximum number of people to 6 per session.

This work could not be possible without funding from the Green Recovery Challenge Fund (Heritage Lottery, DEFRA, Environment Agency and Natural England), and The National Lottery Community Fund.
