Accountable to: Chief Executive Officer
Responsible for: Development and management of business and corporate stakeholder participation and volunteer programs.
Salary: Salary: £11,652.48 (£29,130.20  pro rata)
Hours: 2 days per week Tuesday & Thursday x 16 hours
(occasional overtime will be available as needed)
Term: Fixed term:
1 year with potential extend, includes 3 month probationary period

Job Title: Business Engagement & Corporate Volunteer Program Manager                                                                           

Introduction:

Gasworks Dock Partnership is looking to recruit an outgoing, enthusiastic and organised person with a passion for people to manage and develop our portfolio of organisational partnerships. 

Building on existing partnerships, this exciting opportunity is ideal for a motivated self-starter to create and shape a self-funded substantive post generating a sustainable income stream for the Charity.  

With excellent interpersonal and communication both in person and over the telephone, you will support the Chief Executive Officer in building and maintaining sustainable relationships with organisations who share our vision by developing and supporting  long term projects/ad hoc events that meet the needs of the local community.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage existing business partnerships 
  • identify and build a network of long-term partnerships across a wide range of different business sectors who will share and contribute to our vision and aims. (Construction, Engineering, Insurance; Government, Local Authority etc)  
  • Plan and deliver Corporate volunteering events 
  • Grow our Corporate and business volunteer base

Key Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • Excellent project management skills including monitoring and evaluation and be methodical in your approach. 
  • Lead groups in an outdoor environment 
  • Able to work on your own initiative 
  • Ability to work independently but also as part of a team
  • Keen interest in corporate sustainability and related company challenges 
  • Ability to develop strong internal and external stakeholder relationships 
  • Familiarity and experience working with Customer Relationship Management systems 

About Gasworks Dock Partnership

Gasworks Dock Partnership (GDP), a registered charity based in the East London Borough of Newham, is managing the regeneration and development of Cody Dock into a Creative Industries and Community Quarter.  Our vision is to rehabilitate Cody Dock creating new workspace, visitor facilities and public space, not only providing jobs and public facilities but also fostering greater community cohesion and civic pride through restoration and celebration of the area’s waterways and rich industrial heritage.

It is an exciting time to join the team as we have received planning approval and capital funding for a whole range of large scale projects that will provide volunteering opportunities such as environmental citizen science activities, operation of our community boat, dock restoration and the construction of our new Community Centre, Rolling Bridge and Leaway wash block facility.

Qualifications & Knowledge Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience Level 2 Safeguarding Current DBS check (Standard)
 

Experience

 

·     Successfully engaging and managing volunteers.

·      Working with the corporate sector.

·      Strong project management experience.

·      Working with Microsoft office suite; Excel and word, Google Docs

·      A team player, able to delegate.

·      Strong on performance management with the ability to set and monitor boundaries.

·      Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Safeguarding, current Health and Safety and equal opportunities procedures.

·      Knowledge and application of CRM database systems.

·      Display an understanding of basic marketing principles.

 

·      Working with third sector organisations.

·      Experience with posting on social media; Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

·      Brokering opportunities to support individuals to achieve their goals

·      Working with Corporate CSR departments

·      Working knowledge and application of Salesforce

·      Experience working with Gmail, Google docs and Google Drive

Skills & Personal Attributes
·      Strong organisational skills, thorough, able to prioritise and manage own workload and that of others.

·     IT literate and fluent with MS Office suite.

·      Ability to deliver quality presentations suitable for a variety of different audiences.

·      Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with partners, funders and other external agencies.

·      Ability to understand and communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences, both verbally and in writing.

·      A confident, warm, outgoing and approachable manner, with the emotional intelligence to lead creatively and empower others to maximise their strengths.

·      Willingness to get involved and assist project workers with events and volunteer activity.

This appointment will be made on the basis of a 3-month probationary period and are subject to two satisfactory professional references, completion of a self-disclosure form and a DBS check.
