Welcome to Cody Dock Bird Walk!
🐦⬛Join us at 10:30 AM for a relaxed stroll along the River Lea from Cody Dock to observe and learn about the amazing diversity of bird species in this urban landscape.🦅
🪿Together we’ll look out for resident and visiting species along the river and surrounding area and keep a record of what we see along the way. We’ll be contributing our sightings to the British Trust for Ornithology Garden BirdWatch – a national citizen science scheme, helping to support long-term monitoring of bird populations across the UK.
🦢Whether you’re a seasoned birder or completely new, this event is perfect for nature lovers of all levels.
📷Feel free to bring binoculars or a camera if you have them, though no specialist equipment is needed to take part. We can’t wait to see you there!

Please complete our Volunteer Agreement and arrive at 10.00 am for a mandatory site induction!
How to get to Cody Dock
- Cody Dock is a 6 minute walk from Star Lane DLR Station. The DLR is a fully accessible public transport network with step-free access into all stations. Use the Stephenson Street exit from Star Lane station (the exit to the left) when departing from the platform.
- Cody Dock is a 4 minute walk to the 323 bus stops (South Crescent Business Centre (Stop H) and North Crescent Business Centre (Stop J).
- Parking reserved for those with special access needs: On-site parking available upon request in advance. Please contact the event manager in advance.
Please be advised that street parking Monday – Saturday 8 am – 6.30 pm is paid by phone with a max stay of 4 hours.
